Preparing For A Fun Time!
Before The Session
I start with a preliminary consultation with you so I can learn a little more about you, your pets and what you’d like me to capture during your photo session. I’m sure you have a vision or concept for the portrait you envision. I can bring my mobile studio to your home or we can meet at a favorite outdoor space of yours. We will determine the best location and time for your photo shoot. When scheduling an outdoor session I always recommend shooting during the last hour of the day when the lighting is softer, diffused and the temperature is warm. Sessions are fun for both you and your pet. I also want to know a little about your pets personality. No matter if they’re camera-shy or absolute hams, I can get THE shot. This will probably involve toys, treats, and you being employed as my #1 wrangler! We will also talk about session options, products, and pricing.
Preparing For Your Session
A few days before your session, you will receive an email with tips and information to help you get ready for your session and make it run as smoothly as possible. If your pet requires trimming or grooming, I suggest it’s done a couple of days prior to the session not on the same day of the photoshoot. Please put together a “travel bag” of your pets’ favorite toys, treats, and accessories like bandanas, bowties, tiara, etc. to the session, I love naked pet but som owners way some cute costumes. We will have time to do both. I do not bring things like treats because your pet might be sensitive to certain treats. I also find that your pets personal toys are comforting to them and the famulatity can give them comfort. If we have planned an outdoor shoot and the weather is not cooperative I’m more than happy to reschedule.
Fur Time Session
The next time we meet will be the photography session. During the beginning of the session we will work with your dog or cat and just see how they respond. I may start photographing right away or allow them some space. We will test what your pet responds to best by giving them attention, treats, toys and making sounds. You will be my professional pet wrangler. I will be providing you with suggestions of how to get you fur baby to respond. My job is to sit back a GET THE SHOT. There will be candid and posed shots created throughout the session using different areas and camera angles. These sessions generally last 90 minutes. However sometimes they are only an hour and at other times they take 2 hours. Remember in public locations we will probably keep your dog on a leash and I will just edit it out of the photos after. I promise your fur baby will love being the center of attention!
After The Session
2-3 weeks after the session, you will receive an email with a link to the gallery of images from our session. The link will take you to the website with your family’s images all neatly put together in a gallery for all of you to see. You can view, share, and even order prints. The photo lab connected with the gallery is a top-notch, professional lab. The prices are crazy reasonable too.
